How do I join Okuma-PAC?

To join Okuma-PAC is really easy. You must apply on-line and provide us with some user information.

You can apply at our Website

We then review the details you advise with a view to acceptance.

When completed, we both sign it off in a simple agreement so it’s recorded.  Due to the manner in which our Okuma-PAC discounted labour rate is applied, we feel we will need to sit down with our customers (or discuss by phone, one on one) and explain it thoroughly.

In addition, if you need us to provide any planned services work such as annual, bi-annual, semi-annual preventative maintenance, operator training or other works we can plan that together at that time.

Why an Agreement?

After seeking proper advice it was decided that creating a preferential arrangement for our customers was required as Okuma-PAC is not an offer open to the public.

Where’s the catch with Okuma-PAC?

There is NO catch.

We conducted over a year’s research covering over 100 customers in order to find out what they wanted.

Above all, they wanted service charges relief. They also wanted more advice on care programs for their newer and more sophisticated equipment that really wasn’t possible to service by themselves or by others without the backing of the manufacturer. They also wanted more ‘top up’ training for their operators in order to get the very maximum benefit from all the standard features inside the Okuma OSP controller and learn about newly developed features that could be easily added to assist the specific type of work our customers carry out.

What we do know is that regular maintenance, even on an annual basis, substantially underpins reliability and productivity of Okuma machines.

There is NO catch with Okuma-PAC. We are merely putting our shingle out to assist you if you want. It’s your choice of a program that we believe is unique and is very valuable to you.

What is my new service rate?

Our normal labour base rates have been lifted by $5 per half hour (not changed since 2005).

Our travel charge has also been lifted $5 to $100 (not changed since 2008) if you are at a drivable distance.

Out of hours, overtime and air travel and accommodation have all been amended proportionately as well.

If you join Okuma-PAC whereby you agree we will be your preferred service provider, there is a predetermined sliding scale call fee and discount rate that is applied to the base labour rate given the following information:-

  1. The number of NEW Okuma or NEW Fanuc Robocut machines you have currently that have been purchased from us (as Gilbert Lodge, SMI, Atlas CNC or Okuma Australia) by your company, or group company.
  2. The number of second hand Okuma or Fanuc Robocut machines NOT bought through us but that we will agree to service equally.
  3. Where you are located in relation to our local office assigned to provide your service.

As the Okuma-PAC call out and discount rates are variable and determined as above and that our confidentiality policy precludes us from divulging customer information, it will not be published.

So this is why we need to discuss this with you specifically and at which time we can answer all your questions.

What we can confirm is there are no up-front fees, annual fees or joining fees for Okuma-PAC. It’s a Pay-As-You-Go program just like it’s always been. We have sought to formalise it so we can assist you and your needs more accurately through each year. Again Okuma-PAC is a result of us listening to you and then being able to adjust our business plans to accommodate what you want.

Can I use another service provider?

Of course, but then Okuma-PAC would not apply.

Can I exit the Okuma-PAC agreement?

You can exit the agreement any time you like by writing to us, at which time we will restore your Service rates to 0% discount and our published base services rates will apply from then on.

Of course, you can still call on our services assistance as you need.

What’s in it for Okuma Australia?

It may seem on the surface that we are in business just to sell and service Okuma and Fanuc machine tools and related equipment. That’s actually wrong, whereby that doesn’t happen if we fail to satisfy our customers and gain their trust. We have always listened to our customers even if we have agreed to disagree or that we simply couldn’t find a way to deliver what was proposed. In the case of Okuma-PAC we have ignored others in our field and developed a research based services plan that delivers against the inputs from more than 100 customers. If we satisfy you, then it’s job done.

What happens if I don’t join Okuma-PAC?

Nothing changes. You can still receive Okuma's full service and support that you’ve been used to.

You just have to call us on 1300 1 OKUMA.

If you employ our services, you will be charged at our published base rates.

Does Okuma-PAC relate to all labour at my site?

Yes, under Okuma-PAC all mechanical, electrical and applications services labour for that site is charged at the Okuma-PAC rate.

Don’t forget that all new machines purchased are covered by our 12 months bottomless applications assistance program and all our new machines are covered by our comprehensive warranty as published.

How long does an Okuma-PAC agreement last for?

Twelve (12) months from the date your agreement is signed.

If you purchase any NEW machine within that 12 month period, a new agreement is automatically struck for your complete site and that could include jumping into a new discount bracket!

Do I receive any additional benefit if I or my parent company have multiple sites?

Yes. For each commonly owned site that joins Okuma-PAC, they receive the benefit reflected in their hourly rate based on the combined number of machines at all commonly owned sites who have a signed Okuma-PAC agreement.

So, the more sites the better result. Okuma-PAC Travel Costs would be billed based on the individual locations of the sites from our local office.
