ECO suite plus, a machine tool energy-saving system that supports decarbonization, received the Japan Machinery Federation Chairman's Award in the FY2022 (42nd) Energy-Efficient and Decarbonized Machinery Awards organized by the Japan Machinery Federation.
The Energy-Efficient and Decarbonized Machinery Awards commend companies and organizations recognized as contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society by developing and commercializing industrial energy-saving equipment and systems as well as equipment and systems effective for decarbonization. The award was given to Okuma for the third time this year.
ECO suite plus is an energy-saving system that supports decarbonization through energy-saving equipment which simultaneously achieves high productivity, high-accuracy machining, and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, as well as providing visualization of power consumption.
The system has the following functions. The “ECO Power Monitor” function enables visualization, recording, and analysis of the main spindle and feed axis of the machine tool and the instantaneous power and integrated power of each auxiliary machine. The “ECO Idling Stop” function enables the machine to idle coolers automatically. The “ECO Operation” function independently turns peripherals on/off as needed. These functions autonomously maintain high accuracy and stability while contributing to decarbonization.
